Happy Mother's Day!

Well a lot has happened over the past two weeks. We went to Dallas to visit the Grant's for a weekend. We hadn't seen them since Christmas, so it was nice to hang out and catch up. Work has really picked up, the past two weeks we have been very busy. Our year anniversary is coming up June 3rd! I am so thankful for the success of our business in our first year.

The following weekend, some friends and I threw Meredith (a college friend) a Bachelorette party. We had dinner at Bonefish Grill, and had a slumber party at Brooke and Lyndsey's apartment.

We also celebrated Cinco de Mayo with Justin, Kirt, and Luke in Arkadelphia! We had a Mexican dinner and watched American Idol. Kris made it to the top 3 and came home to Arkansas this week! It was so exciting to see him on the news all week. I can hardly wait to for Idol on Tuesday! I also bought tickets to the Idols Live Tour in July. Brooke and I will be seeing Kris up close and personal from our floor seats at Alltel! SO excited!

Yesterday we went to Arkadelphia for Gary's cousin, Katie's graduation. It was weird to think 5 semesters have passed since I walked across that stage. Time flies!

Celebrated Mother's Day with the fam today. I have the best mother/friend in the world!

Today we enjoyed the new setup at the salon. It still feels a little weird, but I think it is going to be more functional.

Tonight after work I went to the beauty school and let Laura practice on me. She waxed my brows, trimmed my hair and gave me a conditioning treatment. It was nice to be in the hair for once. She did a fantastic job!

We watched Idol at my parents house tonight with my mom. (My dad is in China for the next 2 weeks.) Kris had another stellar night! He is doing Arkansas proud. We are still ready to see Lil go home, and hopefully Anoop.

Chillin and grillin!

So, I fell asleep last night before I could post. So I will fill you in on yesterday and today. Yesterday, work was CRAZY busy. That's a good thing though. I ended my day with Meghan. We had fun catching up and playing hair. After dinner I met up with some old OBU friends at US Pizza Co. We had dinner and laughed for a few hours. It was a fun time. Idol was good. Loved that Kris sang a Swell Season song! Love them!

Tonight I skipped Bible Study (I know, bad right?) Gary and I grilled steaks and ate on the back porch. The steak was excellent! Lola got a few scraps and she was loving it. I love spring, such a beautiful time of year. Now, we are watching Idol, to hopefully see Lil Rounds kicked off. After Idol, I think we'll hit the sack early.

Ultimate Retreat.

Today work was busy. We did our first Ultimate Retreat package. We have sold several gift certificates for Ultimate Retreat, but this was our first time through one. It was fun. I enjoy working on one client head to toe and seeing the end result. My client today was getting married tonight. I did her manicure, pedicure, brow wax, updo and makeup. Jill also gave her a massage. That is the fun part about have a full service salon. You can do the job start to finish.

Tonight I went to Bible study at church. We talked about how men value their wives respect even more than their love. Crazy huh? Women are the opposite. We value love more. So, this week I am going to focus of being respectful to Gary. It's harder than it sounds. I tend to want to be in control.

Kris is still on Idol! I am hoping he will make it all the way to the top 3. Scott went home tonight, it was sad to see him go, but it was his time. Looking forward to next week. Goodbye Lil!

Work was busy today. We watched "Marley and Me" last night. I cried. Marley looks/acts so much like our sweet Lola. I am vowing to be a better dog owner. So, after work we took Lola for a walk. After our walk, we grilled chicken. It was oh so good.

American Idol was a let down tonight. I wasn't really a fan of any of the preformances. I don't know who will go tomorrow. I hope either Scott or Lil.

We stayed up late and put together our new grill last night, we almost got a divorce doing it (totally kidding) but isn't it pretty? So, we had Brooke and Jonathan over for dinner tonight to try it out. Gary and Jonathan cooked burgers and brats. It was a total success (at least for the first time). And, we got to eat on the new and improved back porch!

After dinner it was Idol time! Loved Kris again tonight. He surprises me every time. I was also loving Danny and Adam (though I hate to admit it). My bottom 3 for tomorrow: Megan, Anoop (even though I love him), and Lil. Megan goes, tattoo sleeve and all! Bout' time!

Today was my first day back to work after our week vacation in CO. It was hard to drag myself in, but once I got there I realized I had missed it. Kate had all kind of funny stories to fill me in on. You miss a lot of gossip in 4 short days at a salon!

New Friends.

After work Meghan brought her dog Tillie over to play with Lola. They hit it off and had a wonderful time chasing each other around the back yard. Meghan and I just watched like proud parents, commenting on how cute every little thing they did was. We would try and guess what they would be saying to one another if they could talk. We decided Tillie would probably be saying things like "catch me if you can fatty!" or "quit kissing me!"

After the doggy play date I went to the rents for dinner and Idol. Loved Kris, Anoop, and Matt! Hated Adam. He is starting to get a little too big for his britches! But, either Michael or Scott will go home tomorrow.

Gary is still gone. I miss him like crazy. Sleeping in my old bedroom at my parents tonight, because I am a baby. I don't have my camera here, but I promise to post pictures from Lola and Tillie's play date soon!

Bunko night.

Work was super busy today. I wore wedges and stood all day, so my feet are killing me! (I don't know why I continue to do that.) Days like today remind me why I love my job so much. I did a really fun cut and color on a woman today. There is just something so fulfilling about taking a client's vision for their hair and making it happen. I wish I had taken a picture for you.

Tonight was bunko. I am in a bunko group with my mom and her friends. Lame right? Not so! It is actually so fun to be around these women. I really look up to them, they are all so sassy. I can only hope to be as fun as them when I get their age.

When we go to bunko we eat dinner, (which I looked forward to all day, because these women can cook!) play three rounds of bunko, then have dessert and coffee. Tonight, however, we decided to skip the three rounds of bunko and watch Kris Allen on American Idol. We did still draw names for prizes, and I won the "boobie prize" (this is normally the prize the person in last place gets). It was a cute Easter dish towel and pot holder.

Tonight on Idol, I loved Adam, Kris, and Danny. I don't know who will go home tomorrow. What do you think?
